New FBBC manager in new office in Lübeck

The Fehmarn Belt Business Council (FBBC) now directs its activities for business associations and their member companies in the Fehmarnbelt Region from its new office in Lübeck. With a symbolic act on Thursday, 6th of March 2014, FBBC Chairman Nicolaus Lange, FBBC Manager Katrin Olenik and Lars Schöning, CEO of the Lübeck Chamber of Commerce and Industry, placed the brand new FBBC sign at the main entrance of the building of the Lübeck Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Thereby, the new office in Lübeck is now officially inaugurated as the new premises of the FBBC and visible from the outside.

Since the beginning of 2014 Katrin Olenik has been coordinating the activities of the FBBC from her new office in Lübeck. "While the Danes stand largely behind the Fehmarn Belt fixed link and the economy is already in the starting blocks, we must inform the businesses on the German side even more specifically about the opportunities they can gain from this project. Therefore, we have now shifted one focus of our activities to Lübeck, to be able to further raise the awareness of the companies in the region towards their benefits from the Fehmarnbelt fixed link," explained Nicolaus Lange, FBBC Chairman.

In October 2013 Nicolaus Lange, Managing Director of the Lübeck Merchants´Association, had been elected the Chairman and Michael Svane, Director of Dansk Industri, the Vice Chairman by the FBBC members. From the beginning of 2014 onwards they received support by the new FBBC manager Katrin Olenik. Besides organizing events, such as the FBBC Business Day during the Fehmarn Belt Days 2014 in Copenhagen in early October, Katrin Olenik is also the contact person for business associations and their member companies across the Fehmarn Belt Region for questions around cross-border cooperation. She grew up in the Fehmarnbelt Region near Lübeck, and apart from holding a degree in business administration, she is experienced in projects on German-Danish cross-border collaboration.
