SPD business brunch on opportunities of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel NWM in Wismar

Around 20 participants discussed the economic development of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, especially in the region of Nordwestmecklenburg, in the Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Hamburg in Wismar, today, in an event organized by the SPD-Landtagsfraktion. Apart from the regional development program of the Ministry for Energy, Intrastructure and Regional and Urban Development the impact of the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel for the region of Nordwestmecklenburg was focussed.

Tilo Gundlack, spokesman for finance policy of the SPD Landtagsfraktion Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Jochen Schule, vice chairman and spokesman for economic policy of the SPD Landtagsfraktion Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, delivered introductory speeches on the region and its potentials, before Christian Pegel, Minister for Energy, Infrastructure and Regional and Urban Development presented an overview of the development process and progress of the regional development program.

Afterwards, Ulrike Schenka, Femern A/S, Dr. Gernot Tesch, Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock mbH, and Siegbert Eisenach, Industrie- und Handelskammer zu Schwerin provided the audiance with statements on their view on the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel and its chances for Nordwestmecklenburg, and discussed about the effects and opportunities of the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel for the region Nordwestmecklenburg.
