„It is with great regret that we as the Fehmarnbelt Business Council (FBBC) accept today’s decision on the motorway A20 of the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig. The success of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel for the Fehmarnbelt region’s economy largely depends on its accessibility via an intact, demand-oriented connection, which is now moving further into the future due to delays in the planning process. The A20 forms a central part of the road hinterland connection of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel. Deriving traffic from Scandinavia via the A20 with an additional Elbe crossing west of Hamburg builds a major relief for Hamburg as a traffic hub and should be implemented as swiftly as possible, “said Siegbert Eisenach, Chairman of the Fehmarnbelt Business Council.
